Yarn Scraps

December 22, 2012

After knitting socks for the last four or five years, or more, I have a large collection of scrap yarns. Looking through Elizabeth Zimmermann’s Knitter’s Almanac, I found an interesting hat pattern. The hat comes down over one’s ears which I always complain of mine being cold.  Rather sassy looking aren’t they?

Still lots of yarn left so I decided to make a sweater for Mandy, using her old sweater for a pattern.

Does she look happy? I don’t think so. It may be a bit small. I still have LOTS of yarn left. I’ll try again and make it larger.

My Helper

July 6, 2012

So far, of the 42 QAYG blocks that I need for my current project, I have 38. Woo Woo! Only four to go.

This is Mandy, my helper/companion. How does she help? She listens to me whine or whistle while I work. And never talks back. Who could ask for more? Note the white embroidered linen behind her curly white coat. What a nice composition, taken by my friend, Sally Robinson. Thank you Sally.

Adventures on the Buffalo

June 8, 2010

We’ve been on another trip to the Buffalo River, this time taking our little camping trailer, “Scamp.” Although the weather was in the high 80’s and VERY humid we had good hikes and a great float on the river. There were still plenty of wild flowers.

If I may brag for a minute, Mandy was the best little camper. She even sat on my kayak for three and half hours while we floated. Well, after all, she is a Cockapoo. Aren’t Cocker Spaniels and Poodles water dogs?

Mandy, the Soccer Dog

I have a new little point and shoot camera that will make videos. Yay! So here is my first one of Mandy bouncing a ball with her nose and chasing/maneuvering it all around and then back to Harry,  the “ball handler.”   Of course we think she’s the cutest and smartest little dog ever.  She’s certainly one of the happiest little dog’s I’ve ever owned.
