First Friday, Sept. ’08

In Springfield, MO, the first Friday of every month is “First Friday Art Walk.” Tomorrow will be opening of four art quilt exhibits. At the Missouri State Univ. Gallery of Art and Design will be ThreadLines 2008, an international art quilt exhibit juried and judged by Jason Pollen, chairman of the textile department at the Kansas City Art Institute. Jason will also have an exhibit of his work at the gallery.

At the Creamery Art Center, will be an exhibit of work by Pam Rubert, Wish You Were Hair, and another exhibit by Lettie Blackburn and myself entitled, The Nature of Things. At the Gilloiz Theater is yet one more exhibit of Susan Lumsden’s work.

Here are a couple of photos of The Nature of Things. Lettie is exhibiting wall quilts and water colors of trees and I am showing wall quilts and photographs of flowers. It all seems to work well together. Our exhibit will be up all month and open Monday thru Friday 9 to 5.
