Shots Around Town

Today, I might bore you with only pictures around my habitat. On May 4, 2003, Stockton was practically blown off the map by a tornado. After the storm, the city square had only one building standing. Most building were old two-story Victorian. The top floors either blew away or blew over. The square has been completely rebuilt. It looks nice now, but just doesn’t have the same uniqueness of the old buildings. I think.

The top of one building fell over onto our library, which was in an old movie theater. Now it’s in a trailer which is overflowing. We’ve finally raised $650,000 for a new building and construction started a couple of weeks ago. Hurray!

Here is a sign out on the highway that’s always amused me. Would you want to park here?

This next picture was taken from our deck in the evening when the sun is low in the west and the world turns a sort of golden color. It had just rained and the air was full of moisture.

And, finally, this was the sunrise this morning. Dawn, moon, and a planet.

haha I really like that better than nothing sign. Hey I was thinking the other day that if you need some photos of you working in the studio, let me know. I could help you take some so you don’t have to use the timer and run around the tripod.
